Aufgaben

We are looking for a PhD candidate to study the function of dendritic cells in early life. Dendritic cells are versatile controllers of immunity with crucial roles in innate and adaptive immunity. In neonates these cells are qualitatively distinct from adults, presumably to establish early life immune balance essential for survival. The project aims to understand how dendritic cells in early life respond to pathogens and initiate T cell responses. To this end novel mouse models to fate map and deplete dendritic cells will be used in combination with cutting edge single cell technologies (such as single cell RNA sequencing, Multi-parameter flow cytometry, Histo-Cytometry).

The position is available in the group of Dr. Barbara Schraml at the Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany and is funded by a Starting Grant from European Research Council. The post is located in state of the art laboratories at the Biomedical Center of the LMU with access to excellent dedicated core facilities for flow cytometry, bioimaging and bioinformatics.
