Aufgaben

We are an interdisciplinary international team involving Laser Specialists, Life Scientists and Bioinformaticians that is, in collaboration with Medical Doctors, developing laser-based technologies for the purpose of early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The project is part of large Laboratory for Attosecond Physics (LAP) headed by Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz at LMU Laser Physics and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics (MPQ).

The BIRD team (www.attoworld.de/research/bird/) is aiming at devising new ways to detect and analyze molecular fingerprints in medical samples (blood serum) to define health states of individuals. For building up a large-scale biorepository and organization of large populational studies, we are seeking for HIWI/WerkstudentIn to help us build database consisting of patient information, sample arrangement and measurement data.


• Help in database design
• Setting up database including tables in MS SQL server
• Help in planning and implementing Access user interface
• Definition of SQL queries

Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Mathematics or equivalent
• Very good knowledge of SQL and experience with MS Access
• 1-2 years of hands-on coding experience with VB(A) or other languages (C#, Java, Python,..)
• Very good in grasping and understanding abstract models
• Experience in system and database design is a plus
• Experience in user interface design is a plus
• Fluent in English
